What interests you about the Diabetes test?

How is the risk of developing diabetes determined?

Take a simple test for diabetes, for which you only need to have a blood sample taken at one of more than 30 collection points throughout Slovakia. A glucose profile examination with results within 2 working days will reveal whether you are at risk of developing diabetes (diabetes mellitus).

How do I know that I have diabetes?

If you notice symptoms of diabetes such as extreme thirst, frequent urination, insatiable hunger, excessive hunger, get tested for diabetes. Within 2 working days, you will receive a detailed glucose profile that will reveal whether you are at risk of developing diabetes.

Where can I get tested for diabetes?

Unilabs has more than 30 collection points ready for you throughout Slovakia. At the place you choose, they will take a blood sample, which will be tested for diabetes and in 2 working days you will know whether there is a risk that you suffer from this disease.

What is the normal blood sugar concentration?

A normal fasting blood glucose concentration is between 3.9 mmol/l (70 mg/dl) and 5.6 mmol/l (100 mg/dl). If you measure 5.6 to 6.9 mmol/l (100 to 125 mg/dl) fasting, we recommend taking a diabetes test. Low blood glucose is below 3.9 mmol/l (70 mg/dL) (2).

What are the first symptoms of diabetes?

The first symptoms of diabetes are described by three terms starting with the letter P – polydipsia (unquenchable thirst), polyuria (frequent urination) and polyphagia (huge, so-called wolf hunger). If you notice the following symptoms, we recommend taking a diabetes test.
